Strategic & Business Review
Business Challenge
The client was undergoing rapid expansion of its architecture practice. Because the principals were fully engaged in their core business, they had little opportunity to develop a business structure that would allow for long-term growth in the business.
Our Approach
Farrelly & Mitchell was retained to implement a number of business systems:
- Financial controls, including accounts payable and receivable; project cost management; and internal financial controls.
- Human resources structures, including pay and benefits structures and review processes; employee policies;
- Sales structures, including sales management and pipeline forecasting
- Market strategies, taking a strategic view of the most desirable sectors in the architecture and construction sector.
Benefits & Value
As a result of the review, the company continued to grow rapidly. Significantly, it now had the structure it needed to deal with larger and public sector clients. When the sector started to face significant challenges in the construction downturn it was able to mitigate the problems by restructure in an orderly manner, while maintaining its strengths in future growth markets.
