Farrelly & Mitchell
Farrelly & Mitchell was founded in 2004 by Philip Farrelly & Malachy Mitchell. The firm has a successful track record in acquisitions, mergers, divestitures and alliances through working in agribusiness and food, commercial real estate and business advisory.
The Company has worked with sovereign wealth and private equity funds, investment syndicates, corporate and private clients across a range of international assignments. These include in areas such as; M&A mandates, due diligence, valuations, deal origination, sourcing and structuring of large-scale farming and food acquisitions, and commercial property acquisitions.
We also work with individuals, SME’s and corporate clients who wish to restructure debt, fund new projects or investments, conduct financial and tax planning, reorganise or develop their business to improve operational efficiencies and recruit experienced senior management.
Our projects have taken us to numerous locations across the world including; Argentina, Brazil, Chile, United States, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, Germany, Slovika, Bulgaria, Romania, Baltics, Balkans, Namibi and Ukraine.
Farrelly & Mitchell is based in Ireland and has an office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and an associate office in Germany.
The Company also raises and structures bank debt and equity for businesses and private investors in the domestic and international markets.
Our team of highly experienced business consultants have worked for some of the largest and most successful companies in the world. Their background and experience spans agriculture, food, commercial real estate, international finance and M&A, public relations, strategic marketing and banking.
Directors
Philip Farrelly, Chairman
Philip brings to the practice a deep knowledge and understanding of agribusiness and rural development. He has led the acquisition of agricultural land to a value in excess of €500 million on behalf of the National Roads Authority in Ireland.
A past president of The Agricultural Consultants Association and a member of the Agricultural Science Association, Philip was also a subcommittee member of the Enterprise Strategy Review Group on the competitiveness of the Irish economy. He is a regular spokesperson on agricultural taxation issues.
Philip's clients include National Roads Authority, ESB, Bord Gais, Irish Rail, Environmental Protection Agency and the Irish Farmers Association.
Philip has a Bachelors in Agricultural Science from UCD and is a member of the Agricultural Consultants Association.
Malachy Mitchell, Managing Director
Malachy leads the team at Farrelly & Mitchell, which he founded with Philip Farrelly in 2004. He is also a director of a number of property investment and development companies in the US, UK and Germany, all of which are managed by Farrelly and Mitchell.
Malachy has extensive corporate funding and structuring experience, from leading roles in projects in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and international markets. These include a number of major take-private deals and LBOs within the agri-business and food sector, as well as in the property and property development sectors. His previous business and management experience also includes senior executive positions with the Irish Farmers Association and a number of major Irish and international food companies such as the Carton Group Ltd and the Kerry Group plc.
Malachy holds a B.B.S. (Hons), MMII Grad., MSc. Operations Management (Hons).
